Ahmedabad: Banking on the knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) and Riyan Parag (36), Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by four wickets in the Eliminator.

In a topsy-turvy chase of 173, Rajasthan prevailed by Rovman Powell’s late burst that saw the West Indies T20 captain wrap up the chase with a six.

Rajasthan Royals were set to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Qualifier 2 in Chennai to determine the second finalist, who will face the Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Earlier, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar heaped praise on RCB performance in the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as "absolutely phenomenal".

After reeling at the bottom of the table in the first half of the tournament, RCB made a sensational comeback as they won their last six matches to finish their league stage campaign in the final four with 14 points, said reports.

In their first eight games, they only won a single game against Punjab Kings. It’s the fourth time RCB entered the IPL playoffs in the last five seasons.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) finished third in the standings with 17 points and a net run rate of +0.273. They won eight out of their 14 group matches with the last one getting washed out.
